hello friends. i think a monthly post sounds good.

tonight i am shooting the alex g show at the fillmore which should be fun. shooting a lot of shows again which has been great, though not lucrative really. which is fine. i'd rather just be out there making work. it's a tough balance when you sometimes get paid for doing what you love. but only thinking about it in terms of what makes money kind of ruins everything and the passion of it, for me. but i also need to pay rent and can't live off exposure.. ;( bleh. i have a day job and pretty much always have had one. freelancing full time w/ no side hustles or day job seems extremely difficult to do these days.

i've been listening to a few different bands lately. the villagerrr deluxe album came out today which was one of my favorites of the whole year. really good indie folky stuff. the song with merce lemon in particular is great. also been listening to sharp pins’ 2024 album radio ddr a lot. i recorded a new demo with a friend the other night in west philly. i have 8-9 new songs written from the past year or so. hoping to record sometime? although I want it to be full band so we will see. it's definitely a goal to get that recorded.
